3rd Grade Families,
Welcome to the start of a new year! I am very excited to meet you, have your child join our learning community and am looking forward to the year ahead!
This year, I will begin my nineteenth year as an educator and my second year of teaching at Raymore Elementary. I received my Bachelor’s degree from MSSU in Joplin, MO and my Master’s degree from PSU in Pittsburg, KS.
My husband, Bill, and I have one adult son who graduated from the University of Arkansas and currently lives in Dallas, TX. As you can tell from my website and my classroom, I love spending time at the beach relaxing, reading books and enjoying precious memories with my family.
I feel very blessed to be a part of the Raymore Elementary family. In addition to a safe and supportive classroom, I believe parents are a valuable part of every child’s success. For this reason, I believe communication between us is vital! Weekly newsletters will inform you of upcoming events, activities, and units of study. Student work will be sent home in Friday Folders. Please review and sign your child’s agenda each evening.
I am thrilled to be part of your child’s education and look forward to partnering with you to have a successful school year! I encourage you to email me at [email protected] or write a note in your child’s agenda with any questions or concerns. I am excited for the fun-filled year of learning and I look forward to hearing from you often.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Shafer
