This is the bubble solution recommended by the Museum of Science Bubble Bonanza Unit. It recommended letting it sit for 24 hours.
1 gallon of water
3 cups of dish soap
1 cup of glycerin
However, one of the videos said that corn syrup could be substituted for the glycerin which we tried one day.
The Backyard Lab video www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DomYVFCeSM recommended:
1 cup distilled water
2 tbsp dish soap
1 tbsp glycerin or corn syrup
or
6 cups distilled water
1/2 dish soap
1 tbsp glycerin
1/2 cup cornstarch
1 tbsp baking powder (not soda!)
Let the mixture sit overnight. Then, make some bubble makers using yarn, straws, sticks and weights.
